A First in Mining Safety Technology

The Autorail™ system is the first of its kind to be fitted onto rear dump mining trucks across Australia. Designed to drastically reduce the risks associated with accessing and egressing heavy machinery, Autorail™ not only enhances worker safety but also improves operational efficiency by minimising downtime during maintenance.

Now operational on multiple mining sites, Autorail™ reflects Ricbuilt’s unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in industrial safety.

 

Key Features That Set Autorail™ Apart

The Autorail™ system combines rugged engineering with intelligent design. Key highlights include:

  • Automated Safety: A centre mid-rail and manual lock gate on the right-hand side ensure controlled access. The fold-down top rail secures the system during operation.

  • Smart Design: A heavy-duty actuator and removable guarding sit flush against the handrail frame, keeping the system protected while allowing for effective drainage.

  • No Welding Required: The Autorail™ system attaches using existing hydraulic and fuel tank bolt points, eliminating the need for structural modifications.

  • Seamless Integration: A full plug-and-play harness connects to the truck’s main isolator box, all designed to OEM specifications.

  • Intelligent Control Panel: Located near the access ladder, the stainless-steel control panel features toggle switches, indicator lights, and a clearly marked information plaque.

  • Built-In Safety Protocols: Includes hoist isolation when rails are up and system isolation when the truck is operating normally.

 

Efficient Installation & Maintenance

Installation is fast and straightforward — typically completed within a single shift. Whether installed in the field or a workshop, the Autorail™ system is adaptable for both left-hand and right-hand side configurations. Each unit is modular, fully componentised, and built on an independent sub-frame, making future part replacements easy and cost-effective.

The rail system sits flush to the outer chassis and complies with the standard 1-metre safety height. It’s manufactured using certified steel built to AS1657 standards and finished with a high-visibility powder-coated orange.
